Absolute bioavailability of tadalafil following oral dosing has not been determined. The European Medicines Agency has waived the obligation to submit the results of studies in all subsets of the paediatric population in the treatment of the erectile dysfunction. There are limited data from the use of tadalafil in pregnant women. Animal studies do not indicate direct or indirect harmful effects with respect to pregnancy, embryonal/foetal development, parturition or postnatal development (see section 5.3). As a precautionary measure, it is preferable to avoid the use of CIALIS during pregnancy. The co-administration of PDE5 inhibitors, including tadalafil, with guanylate cyclase stimulators, such as riociguat, is contraindicated as it may potentially lead to symptomatic hypotension (see section 4.5).

Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects. Headache, stomach upset, back pain, muscle pain, stuffy nose, flushing, or dizziness may occur. If any of these effects last or get worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Do not use more of it, do not use it more often, and do not use it for a longer time than your doctor ordered. Also, do not stop taking this medicine without checking first with your doctor. There are no adequate studies in women for determining infant risk when using this medication during breastfeeding. Weigh the potential benefits against the potential risks before taking this medication while breastfeeding. Appropriate studies have not been performed on the relationship of age to the effects of Adcirca® and Alyq™ tablet in the pediatric population.

Tadalafil 2.5 mg and 5 mg - In patients receiving concomitant antihypertensive medicinal products, tadalafil may induce a blood pressure decrease. When initiating daily treatment with tadalafil, appropriate clinical considerations should be given to a possible dose adjustment of the antihypertensive therapy. Most of the patients in whom these events have been reported had pre-existing cardiovascular risk factors. However, it is not possible to definitively determine whether these events are related directly to these risk factors, to CIALIS, to sexual activity, or to a combination of these or other factors. The recommended dose is 5 mg, taken at approximately the same time every day with or without food. For adult men being treated for both benign prostatic hyperplasia and erectile dysfunction the recommended dose is also 5 mg taken at approximately the same time every day.

You should avoid or limit your alcohol consumption before taking Cialis. Alcohol may affect your ability to achieve an erection and temporarily lower your blood pressure, increasing your risk of certain side effects. PDE5 inhibitors, such as Cialis, block an enzyme from destroying cGMP. As a result, the blood vessels remain dilated for longer, resulting in a longer-lasting and firmer erection due to the increased blood flow.

You’ll need a prescription to get generic Cialis, also known as tadalafil. There are several options for how you can get generic Cialis, including starting with talking with your doctor. You can meet with them and discuss your symptoms, and they will prescribe tadalafil for you. If you’re taking them once per day, your doctor will typically start you on a dose of about 2.5 mg and adjust based on how well it’s working for you and whether you’re experiencing any side effects.

Tadalafil is excreted predominantly as inactive metabolites, mainly in the faeces (approximately 61 % of the dose) and to a lesser extent in the urine (approximately 36 % of the dose). In cases of overdose, standard supportive measures should be adopted as required. Available pharmacodynamic/toxicological data in animals have shown excretion of tadalafil in milk.

Before you start Cialis treatment, tell your doctor if you’re taking any blood pressure drugs. They may give you a lower dose of Cialis or monitor you more often. This side effect was reported only in people who took Cialis once a day for erectile dysfunction (ED).

CIALIS belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. Both drugs take approximately 30 to 60 minutes to begin working and allow patients to achieve the erection they expect. Peak concentration in the blood is reached after two hours for tadalafil and about one hour for sildenafil. As such, we always suggest taking medication about an hour or two before sexual activity. The time it takes for the drug to function will vary between patients, so use prior experience as a guide. FDA-approved Cialis tablets made by Eli Lilly contain the active ingredient, tadalafil, and are used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and other approved indications.

This date is typically 1 year from the date they dispensed the medication. If you’re taking Cialis, you usually won’t have to take other medications with it. Overdose symptoms are similar to the typical side effects of Cialis. For more about side effects, see the "Cialis side effects" section above. Taking more than the recommended dosage of Cialis can lead to serious side effects. If you drink alcohol, talk with your doctor about what amount is safe to drink while you’re taking Cialis.
